BFFs

I’ve been away and busy figuring out a lot of things in life. What’s new right? But I’m not here to sulk no more. I had a really bad week last week but then the weekend hit and I spent the whole weekend with people I adore. I feel 10x more pumped up and motivated to finish off my fall quarter strong. Four more weeks!

I spent the weekend with my family, the boyfriend and my bestest friends from high school. I love how with the right people no matter what we’re doing everyone is still laughing and having a good time. The feeling I get with my friends is nothing any other friend or group of friends can replace. That’s the thing with high school friends. You can have college friends and you can have the best friend – but the high school friends that stick around after graduation are the real ones. I love them so much I can’t even explain it. It’s the best feeling ever.

If you’re a fan of Sex & The City or ever watched it you would understand when the four characters go out and grab their daily breakfast. They laugh, joke and talk about anything and everything. I don’t have “my girls” I only have “my boys”. I don’t care. They give me the sense of comfort and humor that no “girl friends” can ever give me. I know it. I went through high school asking “who needs a boyfriend when I have these guys”. No, I’m not being promiscuous or anything. These 4 guys friends and I are strictly platonic. And yes, it IS possible. Trust me.

I remember my parents used to be very against the idea that I only played and hung out with guys growing up. My mother has gotten to know each of my bestest friends and learn to not only like them but trust them. I think my mother eventually gave up trying to get me to make girl friends (sent me to ballet dance class and made me wear dresses. Oh well!)

I’m happy where I am in life with my friends. I miss high school but I love college hang outs much more. I cannot wait for high school reunions. I hope we’re all still friends until then, and for a long, long, time to come. I am loving life.

That is so adorable! I always had a guy BFF! Girls are just plain out DRAMA but I do have BFFs who are girls but I grew up with them and I’ve known them for years but guys are real. No bullshit, no fakeness!

Aw Mandy, that’s so cool. Must be awesome to have guy BFFs, you’ve probably experienced less petty catfighting behind each other’s backs in HS than most girls, lol.
