About Me
They call me Mango. Long story, short: I was a premature baby. My mother ate a mango one night and next thing you knew, I popped out of her womb. Crazy right? But that’s as legit as it gets. Now does that clear up any confusion about the website name “Talking Mango”? And yes, silly – I do get called my Mango but usually people just call me Mandy, or both Mandy Mango.
I was born in Hong Kong but raised in Walnut, California. No, not Walnut Creek. It’s okay if you don’t know where that is because most people don’t unless I tell them it’s next to Diamond Bar. And yes, since I was born in Hong Kong, I do know how to speak Cantonese. I will be learning Mandarin coming Fall 2009.
My blog keeps me sane. Sometimes I think that blogging is the only thing that makes sense to me. Even though I am only eighteen nineteen and life isn’t supposed to be complicated, it is. Road signs may just be the only things in my life that can give me any kind of guidance. I own a couple blogs and some are still in the making. If you like food you should visit my picturing food blog: Feed Me Mango (I ought to update it more. Bleh, too lazy and too busy eating instead!). Look out for a joint food blog, Food Adventures with Jon & Mandy in the near future.

I am a proud Anteater. I currently attend University of California, Irvine. I am a Psychology & Social Behavior major minoring in Biology. Medical school? Graduate school? Couseling? Teaching? Stick around and you’ll see my journey reveal itself.
Beside from being a student, I am also a full time shopaholic and part time workaholic. I will shop online, in person, through the phone, catalogs, etc. Maybe I’m addicted? I shop so much that it makes it crucial that I have a job at all time. I’m always on a job hunt even when I have a job. Working gives me a sense of control and I love it. Plus, who can argue with biweekly paycheck? With all this extra pocket cash, I have become a money managing disaster. Nice right? It almost sounds worthy enough to put on my resume for my next job on the hunt.
I’m quite a random person. I would love to have a chat with anyone about anything and everything over coffee during the cold nights. I fail at playing piano, speaking French and skateboarding. Late night that turns into early mornings talks are the best. Pho and tacos make the world go round. I can never fall asleep on someone on the phone, ever. I like giant teddy bears named Spencer. I like to look up at the sky and see planes fly by. Sunrises are nice too. They seem to take my troubles away. One day, I will have a pet goat.
