Whoops! I just bought an orange duvet cover for my nonexistent warm comforter I will be using this winter season. Not too bad it was only $21.88 + tax = $24.01. Orange bedding is almost next to impossible to find. A lot of orange bedding is mixed in with pink bedding. I am NO fan of pink and it just ruins everything.

Anyways, I’ve been looking for a perfect orange duvet cover since last winter season. Finally, I have found it. It’s reversible too so if I want more orange in my life or less orange in my life (as if!). It has a cool pattern on it so it’s a nice touch rather than just plain orange. I’m happy so far and cannot wait for it to arrive in the mail. I saw it, clicked purchased without a second thought. So we’ll see if the quality is good or not. I’ll just let it go if it’s not good quality but I will not be a happy camper since it took me forever to find such bedding!

I’m going through my personal items and it surprises me how much more stuff I have than I thought. Even though I am in a process of de-cluttering and selling all my unused items online I still have a bunch of items left over. Having them sit in a cardboard box just won’t do. I’m thinking about either shelving them away or bookcasing them away. But which is better?

Ever since I was a little girl I dreamd of having my very own bookcase. A couple years ago, my father came home one night with a huge bookcase in his truck. I remember I loaded all my books, magazines and memorabilias in it. As of today, I still have this bookcase (pictured on the left) and honestly, it’s my favorite part of my room.

I want a bookcase in my apartment but I’m afraid there isn’t much room. I also want to make my bookcase look nice with bookends and decorations of picture frames, vases, etc. It’s a lot more versatile. Also there’s some really cool cubbies bookcase around. The options are endless!

But then, the idea of a wall shelf is kind of exciting too. The only down side is that you have to punch holes in your wall. …Which I accidentally already did. I made two huge holes when I was installing my shelf. It was perfect but my shelf was shabby so I ended up returning it but my wall still has two holes. Maybe I should use a bookshelf to hide it until I have to move out and fix it up. Also it adds something on my wall since it’s so bare.

The main thing right now is that I have all my accessories in these bowls and makeup in a box and I need a place to store them besides the ground. I need a need vanity area without the expensive vanity table and stool. The lack of room is pushing me toward the shelves because it’s off the ground and the wall has tons of room but I like the idea of a bookcase. If I get a big bookcase, I don’t really have anything to put in it as of now because my desk has a very small built in bookcase on the side. Oh, what to do?

I’m such a pack rat. I never throw anything out – even if its worn, old, broken, tarnished. I have clothes from the fifth grade that still fits and broken jewelry pieces that are missing a backing or something. I do not throw them out not because they are worthy in value but because they are priceless. Even if my homecoming dance earrings are missing a rhinestone, I still want to keep it. And even if my ankle’s clasp is broken I still wanna see it. But today, I took a big step and threw out my broken jewelry and sorted the usable ones. I admit I did keep a couple memories one – I can’t just throw out my emotional baggage like that!

Anyways, I’m not much of a decorating person even though I always wanted to. I went to Target and found a bunch of tableware that was on clearance. For $1.99 a piece I grabbed a couple of pretty clear bowls and cups. I sorted them by earrings, headbands, necklace, bangles (which I own like 30+ and I only have two arms!). I don’t have a picture right now but I swear I’ll upload one when I do. I’m not done organizing since I left half of my accessories in my apartment and I’m currently living at home with my parents. Try to imagine it. Think – Forever 21 accessories branch store. They sort everything in bowls. Yes, I admit I stole their idea but when have they ever had an original idea themselves. It’s like an open jewelry box; let’s just hope no one robs me! Knock on wood!

Next – de-cluttering my closet. Oh boy…

Since I moved into my new apartment I’ve been busy getting moving all my furniture in and getting organized. After two months, I am still not finished with moving in and getting all my furniture into the apartment. I have a huge furniture dilemma. I have a case of OCD when it comes to matching things. The same goes for my furniture.

I have a huge white bed frame. I have orange bedsheets, pillows, blankets, etc. Black furniture is out of the question because I would not want to sleep in Halloween all year long. My night stand is white, my bookshelf is white…but my desk is.. I don’t know. I have not bought a desk. I want an oak desk but that wouldn’t match. So I have to get a white desk. But I don’t want it all white, white, white! What to do? The fact of non-matching furniture irks me. My OCD will kick in all night long and I will get no sleep at all.

I want to go for an orange, oak, white themed room. But it’s so hard for me to wrap that idea around my head. I’m going crazy looking at room decor magazine and show rooms to see if anyone else has done this and if it looks good. I look at my favorite Sex & The City apartment and nothing matches – but I love it. Should I just go with the flow and see how it ends up being? Whay should I do?! I feel like I have to stick to an all white room but I want some oak in there – but what shade of oak, maple or whatever should I get? Hmmm. I have a headache.
