Say hello to my new Canon EOS Rebel T2i! With both the 18-55mm lens and the 55-250mm lens. Isn’t it pretty?

I love the Canon Rebel Box! The black & red just gets to me!

Haha, look at the mess I made. Waiting for the battery to charge I hoped on to my laptop.

All of this for only $933 with tax included. What a good deal. I got the last one as well. The saleman wasn’t going to let me purchase it because I used my mother’s Costco card but tried to pay for it with my credit card. I pouted and pretended to cry and explained to him it’s my last day in the country and I really need this camera. He gave in and asked me to please stop crying and if I smiled he would let me. I gave him the biggest grin and he rang it up. Here are a couple of shots I took using my new camera.

Black ballet flats. They are such a staple to every girls closet but what happens when your basics…fails on you? I bought a pair of the oh-so-famous Tory Burch’s Reva a couple weeks back for work. I never got around blogging about it because…I’m lazy but here’s my thoughts.

I paid $195 + tax at Nordstrom for these shoes. I wore them to my first day of work. I wanted to be taken seriously but at the same time very trendy and fashionable. I work in the wedding industry and with being barely 20, I didn’t want anyone to think I was just another baby. But after a 14 hour shift of being on my feet the whole time they were falling apart. It was on carpet too most of the time! Well, it doesn’t matter that I wore them through for 14 hours shift or two days of 7 hours shift, shoes that cost around two Benjamens should not just fall apart neither way. I was so unhappy with them I went back and returned to. They gladly accepted it and even the sales associate was like “Wow, 3 years working here and I’ve never seen it” they assured me that my pair must have been defective.

Yes I broke them in the day of and I ended up with no blisters (thank god) but just…bruises. My big toes bruised up for a couple weeks. I can still see the ending of that when I have no nail polish on them. But I have to say, they are by far the most comfortable thing to break into ever. If I have the chance, I’ll certainly buy them again but just for causal wear. I wear my cheap $17.80 Forever 21 shoes to work now and I have no problems. …Guess money and quality don’t add up? But I’m still a little sucker for these Tory Burch’s.

Okay, I know I officially sworn off of Forever 21 clothes but there is this super cute leather hoodie that is teasing me every day at work! I’ve been dying to get a leather hoodie for awhile now. All I’ve seen around the stores are either super expensive ($200+) or does not have a hoodie (just a leather moto). It just sit on this rack staring at me telling me to buy it.

I even tried it on. It’s thin but it’s exactly what I wanted … except the fact that it’s not leather. Not even 1% of leather mixed in. It’s polyester… mixed with some other crazy fabric. If it’s not leather or some durable fabric I know it’s just going to fall apart and rip. Plus leather is supposed to be really warm. I doubt this jacket can keep me warm. I looked straight at the tag and told myself I will not buy this fake leather jacket. I put it down and walked into the back to get to work. I am so proud of myself.

This is the Mango Shop’s Leather Hoodie @ $199

I found the prefect leather jacket at Mango Shop anyways. No, the shop is not owned by me, it’s just a coincidence. It’s $199 + tax but it IS 100% REAL leather. So what if it’s sheep leather and not cow leather. It’s STILL real leather. It’s not polyester or something crazy like that. I need to find time to drive back to South Coast Plaza to purchase my jacket. There was one left in my size. I should call in and put it on hold, right? Right.

I’ve sworn off of Forever 21 clothing, finally. This was something I had to give up. Why? Because I am tired of stocking my closet with clothes that are made of poor quality, have bad cut and are ubiquitous. It’s time to start looking for classic good quality clothes that will last through my years.

As of right now, I don’t have the money to start spending on super nice clothes but I do know that if I don’t swear off of Forever 21 clothing soon, I’m just going to keep stocking my closet with it and this cycle will never end. Sure, a shirt or pair of pants at the store is only 10 bucks, but soon enough that will add up. At that rate, I will never be able to save up for nicer clothes.

It’s been more than a month since I bought anything from that store. At first, it was really hard because I go to this place at least three times a week for work and it is recommended that I wear their clothing line. Since I’m quitting in two weeks I might never have to step back into one of these stores. My level of self control has been amazing and I’m impressed.

Here’s to a better closet. Cheers!

Finally, I am glad to be at home and have access to the internet. I can finally get some things done and cross them out of my to-do list. I’m not sure how people before the age of internet lived, but I can’t ever imagine living without it. There’s just some things that just change people’s lives and there’s no way of going back to how things used to be done. That’s how I feel sometimes. I want to change someone’s life and have them see that from now on it’s a one way street to happiness and goodness.

The idea of what career I will lead in my life is still a big question mark. I’m so used to working part time jobs that don’t mean anything more than just a bi-weekly paycheck to pay rent and buy food. I used to have such a specific career in mind but once I entered college and finished my first year, those dreams died. It’s so sad to see those dreams die because of one’s inabilities or lack of will to work hard. All I know is that I want to work with people and I want to inspire someone/change someone’s lives.

At first I thought about working in the mental health industry. But for now, that doesn’t seem so appealing and I’m not sure why. I’m a psychology major and it’s appealing and all but the career doesn’t seem so great anymore. I thought about teaching. I love working with children (or I think I do?). I don’t want to graduate with just a Psychology major. I tried to pick up a Biology minor but things didn’t work out as planned. I looked a little into an Education minor and that seems appealing. I think I’ll sign up for JumpStart this year at school and maybe take a CalTeach class to see if this is something I really want to get into.

Teaching seems really good right now because I love how there’s a summer break, weekends and you only teach during school hours. I can do all my paper work at home or… get some TAs. I’m creative (or I think I am) and I feel like I have a lot to offer to these kids. I want them to look back when they are older and be like “Wow I really like Ms.__ because she inspired me to _______” or “Take Ms.__, she’s the coolest!” I have a couple teachers that have inspired me to do some nice things. I want to teach these kids more than just what’s in the book. Life lessons. Arts & crafts! Everything! Plus, I love to talk and have people listen to me. These kids would be great. It would be a double whammy of beneficial.

The only thing stopping me? I feel like people who teach are overworked and underpaid and most of all underappreicated. There’s nothing wrong with people who teach. Teachers are the selfless ones that are giving their all to help your children and yet parents and other professions look down on them. Who’s going to teach your kids if everyone looks down on them and no one wants to be a teacher in the end? That’s right. I know I can’t change the view of people on teachers but I can change the lives of the next generation to understand. I want to inspire them. I want to be that difference!

All in all, I still have a headache over everything.
